Job responsibilities:

• Edit sports-focused video content for YouTube and other social media platforms, ensuring high-quality production and engaging storytelling.
• Enhance raw footage with dynamic editing techniques, including slow-motion, replays, action highlights, and sports graphics.
• Apply motion graphics, overlays, and effects to emphasize key moments and maintain viewer engagement.
• Use pacing, transitions, and music selection to heighten the intensity and excitement of sports-related videos.
• Optimise videos for audience retention by employing best practices in sports editing, cutting unnecessary pauses, and keeping energy levels high.
• Stay updated with YouTube’s algorithm, trends, and sports media formats to improve video performance.
• Work closely with producers, scriptwriters, and other team members to ensure a cohesive and engaging final product.
• Dedicate focused time to the rough cut stage to ensure a fast turnaround.

Requirements:

• 2-3+ years of experience editing sports-related content for YouTube or other social media platforms.
• Strong portfolio showcasing sports video editing, including action-packed highlights, replays, motion graphics, and audience retention strategies.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or other professional editing software).
• Basic knowledge of After Effects for motion graphics, sports transitions, and title animations is a plus.
• Understanding of color correction and sound design, particularly for high-energy sports videos.
• Ability to work with fast-paced footage, manage multiple camera angles, and create seamless action sequences.
• Good command of English to ensure smooth communication and alignment with content objectives.
• Passion for sports content and familiarity with the latest trends in sports video production and digital storytelling.
• Creative storytelling mindset – ability to turn raw sports footage into compelling, energetic, and engaging content.
• Proactive problem solver who can suggest improvements and bring fresh ideas to sports video content.
• Strong collaboration skills to work efficiently with producers, editors, and creative teams.
