We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of our group of companies, headquartered in Cyprus with 4 subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing all day-to-day transactions, ensuring accurate and timely financial records for each entity. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong accounting expertise, and the ability to ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.
Job responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations for the parent company and 4 subsidiaries, ensuring accurate transaction recording.
- Reconcile accounts, including bank, credit card, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with financial reporting.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Handle VAT submissions and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Support external audits and assist in resolving audit queries.
- Liaise with external partners such as auditors and tax advisors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a group of companies or multinational environment;
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis);
- Knowledge of IFRS and local Cypriot tax laws and regulations;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple entities;
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders;
- Problem-solving mindset and proactive in improving financial processes;
- Fluency in English and Greek languages;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with multiple subsidiaries or group structures;
- Prior experience in handling VAT and other tax filings in Cyprus;
- Professional certifications (ACCA, ACA, or CPA) or progress towards one of these qualifications is an advantage;
